About Transformational Bodywork -
your deeply personal journey.
Transformational Bodywork is a trauma-informed, deep tissue, myfoscial release, and somatic massage modality. It has been developed from elements of different professional/educational trainings, integrating 15+years of learning from a broad range of body-based, gestalt and shadow work therapies, personal experiences (including Vipassana meditation, and how it helped me quit smoking with non-reactive observation of bodily sensations), and philosophical studies from East and West. It is this experience-based, knowledge-informed wisdom that informs my practice; to help facilitate your process, guide you through it, and help you understand it.
The work we do is tailored to your personal goals, and the process is co-participatory; you are an active observer and participant in the work we do together. I bring my years of experience and deep understanding to this work, to your personal context, and your tailored treatment; to listen to the issues you would like to work with, help you understand my practice and how it might help, and set treatment goals that we will work towards together.
In every session, I blend everything into my practice, including:
Comprehensive client consultation - to understand your particular context, what you would like to work with, what you feel, what I observe in your structure, and the map of tensions I observe in your body.
Skilled bodywork - developed from professional trainings
Somatic Guidance - to guide your awareness to sensations in the body
Continual Assessment with consultation, observation, sensing, dialogue, feedback - to develop a comprehensive understanding of what is going on for you, map what I observe in your body with your awareness of it and your relation with it, to calibrate and inform how I work. Continual assessment helps me understand what is changing for you.
Therapeutic Guidance - to support you with whatever may arise during a session, so you feel safe throughout, to guide you through resistance towards release as your body allows, particularly as we work with deep tensions, intense sensations and emotional holding patterns.
Journey Guidance - by applying my understanding to your particular context, I can support you to feel safe throughout the journey and guide you through the process; to help you understand what you are experiencing, guide you to let go what you might resist, answer questions or integrate insights that arise. To help you understand the journey you are undertaking, to integrate your experience during the session, and understand what is happened at each stage of your journey.
Each individual arrives with a different history, a different body, a different capacity for presence, a different map of tensions. But the underlying process is the same: fascial tension holds emotional energy, and when your mind stops resisting, and when the body feels safe enough to let go, it does and the effect is clearing and unburdening.
In a session, I guide you towards the observation of somatic sensations, to staying present without reaction, and observation of changes over time. I guide you to understand your experience as we work, support you through whatever may arise, and how your body might react, and support you on the journey towards resolution.
From our very first session, my role is to create an environment where you feel safe and at home in your body.
Through presence and calm, I help you immerse into a deeply relaxed state, to become aware of sensations in the body; into a space where you can observe tensions releasing and energy moving in your body. Within this space, you can undergo the transformation process that’s unique to your story. As part of our work together, I’m also here to help you understand and integrate the experience.
This is a participatory collaboration. The aim is to give you the tools to continue this work yourself- you’re not meant to keep coming back for dozens of sessions; the goal is experience-based understanding and a toolkit you can apply by yourself, as you require. Our work together is the training, your journey is the learning experience, and goal is independence and self-reliance.
My intention is to help you on your path towards becoming your highest, most fully realised, and most embodied you.
For you to become the very best of you.

Transformational Bodywork offers intentional and participatory deep-tissue massage for those who experience persistent pain or who might be feeling physically or emotionally stuck. I work by helping you become aware of and reframe your relationship with sensations in the body. Non-reactive observation can help you feel safer, more embodied and can support tensions to release.

My aim is transformation, not simply relief. I often work with individuals who feel that there is something unresolved when they may have tried other approaches. It may be physical pain, emotions, trauma, within the body or the psyche. I understand why some people feel the need for something beyond words. Traditional therapeutic approaches often use a top-down approach where you are exploring your experience to understand it and reframe it.
But in the sessions I facilitate, we do the opposite. This bottom-up approach guides a client into a deeply meditative somatic state where they can observe their bodily sensations, instead of their thoughts. They feel safe to drop their mental defences.
From there, the body may release tension, emotions, or long-held patterns in a way that feels more direct and less effortful than trying to work through them with the conscious, rational mind.
I work with clients for a time, but the aim is always to give you the tools to continue this work yourself.
